Two men accused of stealing gold bullion bars

Two 25-year-old brothers from Brighton have been arrested after their neighbour called the police and informed them the men were keeping suspicious amounts of gold in the cellar of their house. The gold bullion bars were first noticed by some children from the neighbourhood as they were playing near the mens house. The childrens curiosity led to an unexpected discovery: the men were hiding over 50 gold bars, about 12 kilograms each, and additionally a pile of valuable bullion coins dating back to the 18th century. The police have confiscated the gold and are now looking for connections between this incident and another one that occurred in a nearby village a couple of months ago. At that time, a wealthy investor was murdered in his bed. A large sum of money as well as some precious stones and jewellery were also stolen from his house. It is unclear how much money and other valuable property was actually taken, but the investor is known to have possessed large amounts of precious metal, including gold bullion bars and coins. The arrested men are now being interrogated and, if there is enough evidence, they will probably be accused of committing the crimes. If the men turn out to be guilty, they may be sentenced to 15 years in prison.
